The One Strategic Marketing Plan Profit Model You Must Know
The One Strategic Marketing Plan Profit Model You Must Know
Is Your Company Misguided?
Before creating a marketing action plan for your company online; It is important to have some basic foundations in place as we have discussed in the last series. The ideas I will cover now are more or less principles which will guide all the planning and tactics you seek to implement going forward in business or when simply wanting to make sure your online business is headed down the right road.
An online marketing plan begins the same as any other and should start with some guiding principles such as your:
- Vision
- Mission
- Values
Vision is the objective and strategic path desired by your company moving forward. Mission is the base reason for your business to exist. Why is your business in business or what purpose does it serve? Finally values are the ideals shared among your company employees and owners.
An easier way to look at these things is to call this “being on the same pageâ€. It is obviously important to make sure all your business is aware of these emotional company marketing plan concepts.
The one strategic marketing plan profit model which you can fuse these principles into I like to label USPS…hey wait isn’t that where my postal worker is employed? Sure enough it is but we are talking about four major keys to your business success which are:
- Unique Selling Proposition (Product Innovation)
- Speed To Market (Business Automation)
- Web Promotion
- Customer Service
A Unique Selling Proposition is the starting point of your business and without one you will find yourself having absolutely nothing with which to win the attention of new prospects. In fact you will absolutely have to compete on price and service alone. Who wants to go into a market with only those two features?
In the next article I will discuss how to think about your unique selling proposition and how to formulate one properly, but for now as we have seen it is important to go through the steps of the marketing plans in previous articles. You need to do market research before you create a USP.
Speed to market refers to the simple idea that the faster you can move your product or service idea from conceptualization to market and sell it the faster you can create a return on investment of time and money. One crucial element in this step then becomes the ability to use business automation not only to perfect your product, but to allow for more production with less manpower or thought.
Web Promotion is self explanatory and is what this site is all about. The methods of promotion range from paid methods to social viral methods. Many marketers fail simply because they have a great business model but are too lazy or don’t know how to drive site traffic and prospects to their web property.
It may seem like a total no brain proposition to include customer service in our list and yes it certainly is. The really sad part about this is that people laugh at this concept like it is some eighth grade instruction. Ask yourself “How many businesses have lost you as a client due to poor service?â€. Now ask yourself how much of someone’s experience and decision to use your company will depend on how they view your service and helpfulness.
The answer is unknown, but for starters word of mouth is at least 50 times more powerful than any advertising channel you can use. Secondly word of mouth can destroy you as a company and yes this includes online. People are getting savvy to online business and customer service online is pushing online vendors towards being transparent as well as friendly.
Not enough web site owners however are moving this way fast enough with their strategic planning which should make you feel a step ahead of most. As Jeffrey Gitomer’s book is titled “Customer Satisfaction Is Worthless, Customer Loyalty Is Pricelessâ€.
How do you build loyal clients? Using friendly and proactive customer service. So we can see how valuable having USPS and principles in place is for your marketing action plan.
