The 11 “ations” Of Mind

I do not claim to be a psychologist or a guru of mentality, but it is important for me to convey the wisdom I have picked up in my life which has allowed me to build a business marketing mindset map that works. This mindset has allowed me to free myself from fear and confusion and break free to productivity. We all go through mental ruts so take a look at one construct I made which allows me to liberate my mind when it doesn’t want to work.

Here is my list of the 11 “ations” (they all end in “ation” … get it) which you can implement today:

* Motivation
* Education
* Determination
* Deliberation
* Resignation
* Imagination
* Creation
* Organization/Automation
* Specialization
* Relaxation
* Divination

We talked about motivation being important already and having a reason why or a passion for something is what will drive everything you do in life. Choose a reason why which motivates you…my reason why is I love to learn about marketing and to share what I know, but the reason behind that is to make a living for myself and my family.

Mentoring with one source or a few limited sources of information is always the best way to start. Once you have a grasp on the methods and structure of marketing being taught through those sources you will be able to look towards many sources of information and quickly determine which information will help you and which will only confuse you.

Determination means like every great successful professional in this world you need to face adversity and learn from it. You will have a series of set backs along the way and possibly many, but let them make you a better marketer don’t let them force you to quit. Every set back you have is not failure it is making you stronger and bringing you closer to your goals.

Deliberation means you CHOOSE and move forward based on your choices. Great decision makers choose a path and stick to it until they know whether it yielded results. This doesn’t mean you can’t alter your course along the way, but just the opposite. You won’t know how to alter it without setting out on a chosen path. It goes back to that saying “Ready, Fire, Aim” which means don’t wait until everything is perfect to start on your course because perfect never happens.

Resignation goes hand in hand with determination and simply means you are patient in seeing results. Rome wasn’t built in a day and neither will your business be built in a day.

Imagination is the source of all creativity and you must never stop dreaming the impossible dream. A single hinge can swing large doors in marketing so never stop innovating new dreams and ideas. Innovation is what will make your company completely unique and valuable. An example is Google who believes in innovation so strongly they actually give their employees time slots weekly to work on innovating new ideas which can make Google a stronger business. They then in fact pay employees and give them bonuses for any ideas which are used.

Creation simply goes back to the making of a choice and taking action upon it or working that 75-80% of your working hours on your business. You must create through innovation and work, and again if you are working on something you enjoy it is pleasurable work.

Organization and Automation are what allows you to work on your business and not in it. Having the proper tools to keep yourself organized and to expedite all your projects will free up your time and energy into being able to make your business better and more innovative. It makes you more effective in every way. I will be laying out some wonderful tools to organize and automate your business in later automation articles.

Specialization means you must become an expert in one or a few areas and cannot possibly master all areas of marketing. No one ever really does master the whole of marketing. One person excels in programming or web design while another masters ad copy. Anyone who tells you they are a master of all areas of marketing obviously hasn’t looked in the mirror. Becoming an ad copy professional for example alone can take years so the key is to become proficient in many areas of marketing and a master at only one or two. I will give you access to information which will allow you to become proficient in all areas of marketing if you so choose, but remember the best marketers hand those things they don’t excel at off to someone who does.

Relaxation simply means you must schedule breaks for yourself in your daily agenda. It is highly important to take mental and physical breaks during your day in order to maintain mental clarity. If most people would just take breaks and organize their work day and systems better they could accomplish in a few hours what is taking them 8 or more hours a day now.

Divination is the concept of having faith in something greater than your actions or the belief that what you are doing is for a higher purpose and that you will see the fruits of your labor if you can hold on long enough to see daylight. It is the belief in a greater force than yourself which allows you to propel along until you reach your goal. Keeping short and medium term goals and using my organization and automation methods will help you to hold onto that faith. We all manifest into our lives what we believe will happen…if we believe we will fail then we will.
