A Positive Business Mindset

It Is Your Choice

Have you started your own Internet business already and not having as much success as you would like? Maybe you are like I was and have read many things and don’t know which way to go? You need to realize something right now and do something about it.

YOU MUST STOP THINKING ABOUT WHAT TO DO AND START ACTUALLY DOING SOMETHING WITH YOUR BUSINESS.

This is the key to business development. Try something get an error … correct your course of action, get another error … correct your course again … until you make money. Here is a point you may hate us for saying but it is YOUR fault. You choose it and you can change it. No one is going to save you, not even me. I can advise and train you, but you are the one that is going to make it happen.

This may be hard to hear but it is true and the sooner you take on this truth the sooner your life can change because you are controlling it. I’m not saying not to plan things out and think about what you really need to do before taking action. I’m saying don’t just sit in theory and ideas and hot air talking. There are talkers and there are doers. A talker may have done much strategic planning and talk about how their business plans are incredible. The doer just makes money.

So which will you be? The Talker or the Doer?

Think back to our previous article and the marketing mind-set quote from Thomas Edison about how genius is 99% perspiration. This is the ingredient you are going to need to keep moving forward. Nothing and I mean nothing beats the person who is most persistent. The smarter person must give way to persistence because it is what every success in this world is built on.

Do you like the idea that a persistent business mind-set is all you need to succeed? It is great to know you are finally free to succeed and all you need is persistence. If you are persistent and take action on a daily basis you will succeed. Still not convinced? Let’s talk more on it. Being smart has nothing to do with succeeding in your marketing efforts. It won’t hurt you but the average person can succeed with this powerful tool called persistence.

There is a trick to keeping yourself motivated to succeed with your business strategy and that is: read from the works of other successful marketers. This will give you good success models to learn from. One of the best learning tools for any marketer is something called a swipe file.

I’m sure if you are like me you have been receiving a lot of marketing newsletters and sales offers via email. This method is free and all you need to do as each email comes in daily is read the content … not to get involved in every new marketing idea that comes along, but to see what works.

This is valuable information and if a sales letter got you inspired to do something then it is written well and is an idea you can use. There is no copyright on ideas so don’t worry about using anyone’s ideas just don’t plagiarize as that can get you into legal trouble. Here is the part where I need to say that I’m not here to give out legal advice as I’m not a Lawyer, but there is no copyright on ideas.

There is a danger as a beginning marketer or even a mid level marketer to fall victim to a sharp sales letter. You don’t think you will? Guess again … good sales copy will push every psychological button in your mind and have you reaching for your wallet. You’ll find a better way to make money, but will you really? Wise up and don’t fall victim to every well written sales letter you come across or you’ll be parting with a lot of money. More importantly you will get sidetracked on the next thing. Use people’s copy to make yours even better, but pick your path and stick to it no matter what.

Let’s cut right to the bone … jumping around to the next push button miracle business strategy is not going to work. It is the trap all marketers have to overcome. The final word here is: use people’s materials to shorten your learning curve and avoid their mistakes. Use their sales copy if it makes you want to buy and if it fits your personality. In general, stand on the heads of those who went before you in order to lessen your learning curve.
