An Opportunistic Marketing Mindset During a Poor Economy

A Big Opportunity for Your Business Mind-Set

Marketing plan budgets are often the first thing cut during the fear and scarcity mentality mode of economic hard times. Many businesses think cutting out marketing dollars will help them to survive the rough road ahead, but did you realize marketing is the one thing which can actually save your business during this time?

Many marketers over the last months have reduced their budgets significantly. $600 million will be cut on advertising and promotional budgets by U.S. automakers in the next four years. A survey by Anderson Analytics shows more than half of marketers surveyed will cut their budgets this year. Many companies are going under including: Linens and Things, Sharper Image, KB Toys and even Circuit City closed hundreds of stores in 2008. Starbucks even made plans to close 600 stores in 2008.

Chicken little marketers and businesses are running around crying the “sky is falling”. The sky is in fact falling I will not even debate this, but out of chaos there may be a much larger opportunity for your company. During recessions like this there have always been even greater chances for advertisers to take on a new marketing strategy.

There is opportunity in the eye of the hurricane and the most obvious opportunity is to pick up the slack for companies which are failing. Yes they may have failed because there is not as much money being spent in markets, but if you are still alive as a company you may find an opening to service part of the void left empty by the collapse of others.

While chicken little companies are panicking it can be a perfect time for online marketing companies to go into a market or to pick up the slack where there is a void of service and competition has left. It is your job as a marketing consultant while this storm is happening to keep your clients calm and present to them opportunities open during a disturbed market such as is the case in 2009.

Here are some great sensible points to use with your clients if you are servicing clients as I am during this fallout in order to keep them focusing ahead:

Consumers Are Cost Cutting And Sedentary

Consumers are spending less and cutting back on all of their unnecessary behaviors like: traveling, shopping, eating out, entertainment and purchasing higher-cost products. This has caused consumers to spend more time indoors and on things which cost less. This is a point of opportunity for advertisers. More people will: watch television, watch dvd movies, use the Internet, play video games, and use hand held devices.

Your big advertising opportunity then stems from the fact that people are more relaxed and more receptive when at home versus running around outside. Consumers at home are away from so many distracting elements that make it harder to gain mind share. As marketers we are after all looking to gain mind share aren’t we? A less-distracting platform like television, magazines, podcasts and multiple web formats will have more chance of mind share now than ever.

Also any marketing communications you can present now positioning your company and services as money saving will hugely benefit your prospects. This can be coupons, additional value adding features and services which add more value per dollar and anything which can help people save money on unavoidable necessities.

My wife used to own a hair salon and she once told me that it is always good to be selling products which are needed even during hardship. She said the economy never much affected their salon, and when it did they would just add more value to their existing product line.

Less Competition Now

Companies are as I mentioned now cutting back on advertising spending so how will this benefit you? Well I’m sure you see the obvious answer is there are less ads for specific markets appearing and there is less competition. If your company is one of the surviving advertisers you will have a better chance of being noticed.

We can see then that there will be more ad space than ever at less cost than ever. Advertising companies will even have to reduce the rates of ads in many cases do to less demand. Here again is your chance as a marketer to automatically upgrade existing clients for no extra cost. Upgrade your existing clients and save them by covet means. You are a lion and must act accordingly and protect your last meal until summer comes again … or something like that. Sorry let’s say a bear then.

This new environment is perfect for marketers to try and find advertising channels and partner companies, because there is going to be space available for new players since so many are dropping like flies. Your competition is relinquishing ad space and contracts which is leaving spots open in the market of unbelievable opportunity which were all closed off previously due to exclusive agreements.

Let us also not forget that this applies to all marketing advertising channels especially paid ones like: Adwords, Pay Per Click, Face Book, Media Buying and any paid advertising platform. This economic downturn we are experiencing may provide an opening for your company in places you previously thought to be too competitive.

The soft advertising market means large media advertising outlets must reduce newly vacated ad inventory to meet company revenue projections. The advantage then is purely on the buyer side of the equation. This doesn’t mean that you simply buy more advertising because it is available, but it means you will have more attractive spots to advertise that were previously too expensive.

Go out and research your marketing channels which were clogged previously and you will most likely find old over priced channels to have come down in many cases. You now have more options available than ever so take advantage of them and provide new benefits and features to your existing product and I believe you will be in a better position than you were prior to this economic hardship.

Companies That Survive Gain Mind Share

Profit is the bottom line for most marketers, but during tough economic times, it is important to remember that there is a lot to be gained by surviving to fight another day. The only problem is most companies forfeit and live on life support. The thing to be aware of now more than ever is that less companies will be filling the void in your market.

Keeping your marketing investment flowing during hard economic times will increase people’s awareness of your company more than ever. Less choices make you stand out and makes you look more viable. Surviving alone can put a new stream of clients in your lap and when the economy recovers they will continue using you since they will see you as a strong business. Stormy economic times give you a chance to increase mind share in your market.

Business Principles Not Everyone Tells You

Today I am going to share with you some basic concepts of marketing mind-set that not everyone practices. These are highly useful methods to use online and offline which will help you to establish the relationships you need to earn a sale from a prospect.

The first thing you need to understand is that many times when people buy from you it is because of you and what you represent to them based on the impression you give them when they visit your site, read your content, sales piece, or recommendations. This impression of who you represent to them should always get your prospect to: know you, like you, and trust you.

Seems simple right? Well it is a different proposition for different marketing strategies and site models. If you are selling a product you created you will need to get them to trust you in order to buy. Once you have built up the value of your product to the point that you are completely fulfilling a desire or solving a problem they have many will still hesitate to buy and need to often know you, like you and trust you before ordering.

This is obviously not always the case for example if you are selling an affiliate product they may just need to trust that you will not scam them. Something as simple as linking to a product directly on a well known site such as Amazon can often allow them to trust what you are selling.

Secondly there is a law of obligation or reciprocity which works with most people and you can use it to your advantage in most marketing campaigns you run. If you give people valuable free information or tools or services in exchange for their email or contact information people who are remotely interested in what you are selling will be more likely to become prospects and sales for you.

Again this seems simple doesn’t it? But many people are afraid of this marketing strategy of giving away any of their good advice freely for fear of losing sales or the full selling value of something. This has been proven time and time again to be false. The more free value you offer people without sacrificing your chance of selling the whole enchilada … the better.

Free valuable information can be given in many forms which include: email series, e-books, audios, video seminars, podcasts, software trials, videos, consulting sessions, and physical products sent out with shipping costs only. All of these business marketing offers work to varying degrees…try several to find out which work best in your market. The law of karma or reciprocity works and it’s real.

Get people interested in you and why you are selling what you are selling, but more importantly what’s in it for them. That is always the decision maker for people, but they also like to know the person they are buying from has their interests in mind and is one of them. They need to feel that you care and will be there for them to help in their buying decision should they decide to buy something.

Be truthful and always deliver on your promises to clients and prospects. If you are not able to deliver what you promised be prepared to refund those who were not happy with your unfulfilled promise. If someone is dissatisfied be prepared to over deliver on your product in order to win them over within reasonable limits. In order to determine how much you can over deliver it is necessary to know your client’s life time value or ltv.

Life Time Value is how much each customer is worth to your business on average over their life as a customer to your business. Value per site visitor is how much each site visitor is worth on the front end of your advertising efforts and sales or in your short term marketing plan.

Yes, it varies. But let’s take an average life time value to you over a three-year time frame. Now add all the dollar amounts of every sale you’ll make in the next three years. Now minus the cost of service and products and that number is the approximate “lifetime value” of your customer. So you arrive at a value of $10,000 let’s say…Now the question is “how much are you willing to spend to get one of these accounts and not ruin your business?” This obviously depends on your business model.

You really need to know what your customers are worth short term and long term and be able to forecast your goals based upon those numbers. How much is too much to spend? This completely depends on your funds available up front and your product mix or marketing model. If you have a goal of making 100 times return on your investment you will only want to spend $100 to acquire a customer maximum.

Decide how much you can spend for new customers before beginning online marketing. This amount is not inflexible and will change as your business expands. But you need to set baseline spending ability forecasts so you can make decisions on when to pay for marketing and how much. Having these guidelines in place will really help your business not to run into the negative too far and fail.

A Marketing Mindset For Your Blog

A 5 Year Old Knows More Than Most Social Marketers

I wanted to share a short story about your business mindset and what my own son did to drive a point home about how to approach your social marketing prospects that most marketers plain forget about. Last week I was working in my office and was busy working on different ways of building social traffic to Traffic Era Blog (Facebook, Twitter, Digg, Friend Feed etc.).

I was feeling good about my progress and finding out some valuable new techniques when my five year old son suddenly opens the door to my office and comes in with his usual “Hi papa, what are you doing?”. I tell him I am working on my business and he gets a sad look on his face. When my son speaks to me he talks to me in such a caring way that he almost always gets my attention. Because I listen to him he usually ends up getting what he wants from me.

What I have realized is that he does obviously care for me deeply in fact, but he gets what he wants by design. After we hug each other and talk about the things five year olds talk about, my son looks at me very sternly and says, “Daddy, you work too much. You need to come downstairs and watch a show.” At this point I’m completely unaware he is setting me up. “I will in a few minutes honey. I have a lot of work to do.”

“Okay papa do you remember we went to Chile on the beach?” he says to me. I began to recall the great time we had there on the beach and it brings back some great memories of relaxation and sand and sun. Ohhhhhh so nice.

“Yes, honey I remember, wasn’t it great?”

“Yes. I love the beach we need to go to the beach again or in Florida. We can go to the beach and the hotel and have a lot of fun. If you need to work you can work on the beach.”

“That sounds nice We will to go to the beach sometime soon again.” Meanwhile it was snowing here in Colorado, so he definitely had me thinking.

“Okay, papa. You’re working too much.” And then he ran off downstairs. He left me sitting at my computer trying to concentrate and all I can think of is the sand and blue water from our last vacation. So I’m sitting in front of a computer in snow bound Colorado, but all I can think of is sitting in the sun relaxing somewhere far away.

Later, I went downstairs and my son is on his mom’s laptop and looking at a site of families playing in a giant pool next to the ocean in Florida. He points to the picture and says that looks like us in Chile.

I take a closer look and all I can think of is the salty air off the ocean and the contrasting smell of a fresh water pool next to it. I could picture myself as one of the people in the pool with my sandals just taken off and sitting at the pool side after I dove into the warm water. Then I notice he’s looking at the Nickelodeon website advertising their theme hotel Nickelodeon Family Suites Orlando. He then gives me that puppy dog look of longing and I realize I’ve just been sold.

My son could have began talking about how he wanted to swim in the pool and play on all the rides, but instead he used my emotions and how this trip would make me feel and benefit me. He used one of the greatest marketing tools a person can use which is to appeal to someone’s emotional triggers while showing how it would make them feel.

He didn’t just make it about him but about me as well. So I want to point out a simple lesson here in that we web marketers can do well by taking a similar approach with our prospects and clients. It’s all too easy to have an attitude of presenting something from the standpoint of why you think something will benefit someone. Using the direct marketing approach works no doubt.

Instead of using the direct marketing approach all the time it can work better to sometimes use the approach my own son used and remember that our business mindset shouldn’t be about what we think our visitors want. It should more importantly be about what we can provide for them and how we emotionally get them to connect to something.

Internet marketers must provide valuable services, information, and products that help people to improve their lives and do so in a genuine way. We make money from providing those valuable things only because they are valuable and not because we talked someone into something they didn’t know they needed or wanted.

Yes you can sell things online and use direct marketing on the 80% of people who wouldn’t of purchased what you are selling normally. However, if you focus on the 20% of people who want or need what you are offering you are a marketer not a sales person.

Your marketing mindset for your blog or social account content needs to be focused on giving value to your prospects, and tying that to your sale. All marketers are striving to make money, but if your main focus is on trying to always make a sale and you are using a content model such as a blog or social account like Twitter you won’t have a very positive reaction from people.

Marketing Passion Mindset Finds Business

Every Success Begins With It

There is one element which is at the top of having your marketing mindset in tune for those of us running our own online business… passion. You must use that passion to energize your business. Now I would go a step further and use the term business of love because you literally want to love what you do and spread that feeling to your clients.

I am very relaxed and frequently lazy and the only thing that allows me to work on my business and marketing company is my absolute interest and love of what I do. It makes my work day fun most of the time.

When you find your passion in an area and find something to market which makes you motivated it will spur you into action in ways you never thought possible. If money is your only desire in a given market you are more than likely to end up working in it and may earn a lot, but you will have traded one job for another. Your mental state has a lot to do with you earning a lot more and enjoying it at the same time.

When you become motivated by your excitement you begin to love what you do. Sleep, cost and time lose their meaning. You begin to learn everything you can about your subject and can lose yourself in that world. Just remember to maintain a balance in your life once you find the thing you want to market and if you lose that balance simply refer back to my 3 inspiring quotes.

Now with today’s economic problems it is more important than ever to show your customers that there is reason to have hope and it is time to stand up as individuals and do something for themselves. The victim mentality will no longer work and people need to begin to work and consume the things which add value to their lives more than ever.

Help people to make decisions that make sense in these uncertain times. If you do not have a product which enables them in some manner it is a good idea to price your products and services in ways which help them during these times. Package together things with your services that add more value for their money than ever. You can also become more specialized and charge more for your unique services, but your services had better really be unique or offer something which cannot be duplicated easily.

Passion is more important now than ever in all your marketing efforts. It is time for you to be passionate in writing articles, blog posts, and newsletters. You must show people you care because we need to move from this scarcity and fear mentality marketing towards a mindset of abundance. Let me coin a new phrase here then and call this Abundance Marketing.

It is critical you remember from your past experiences that taking on too many things at once won’t work especially now in this economic climate. Find a passion market that gets you going and make a decision right now to pursue it with reckless abandon. Work on it in most of your spare time, but leave balance for the things which matter most and help you to maintain your positive energy. Keep the consistent pursuit of your new market going until you see results.

Do not jump to a new market or idea until you are seeing results from your efforts as this is the only reason for failure that confronts you. Do not let the green grass over there fool you. There is no free lunch.

Here are some steps you can take to build a successful business starting now:

Pick one market you want to master this year and it must be a market you have a definite passion for or a high level of interest.

Make a plan using my marketing plan blueprints in previous articles. You need to decide how much time per day you will spend building your business and two hours a day minimum is needed if you are limited on time. Use the hours you think you will be most productive that you have available. Use a planner reminder and/or project management system to schedule this time out for yourself.

Find a course which gives you a quick formula for reaching your objectives and follow it. If the author designed the system and you trust them … use it as is, because they got where they are by mastering a method that works efficiently. I will be providing some seriously cool money making business systems soon.

Keep track of the hours you log on your new passion market. There is a combination of tools and methods I will show you soon for finding both your market as well as how to manage your time and motivation. I will be providing a simple business planning, management, marketing research and mindset system for you shortly.

Find a coach and/or a mastermind group you can have check your progress and bounce ideas off and to keep you motivated. This is very important because we online marketers are on our own and need motivation. You can do this in our forum and I and other peers will be there to respond to your questions.

Turn your passion into action and implement your plan and dailies you have listed for yourself. Also do not expect things to happen overnight. This will take consistent effort, but it will be enjoyable.

Once you see results in your passion business marketing consider building on that market with parallel product marketing areas or something closely related. You can even expand into a larger area of that market if it makes sense or develop new and improved products and services in your passion market.

Become a passionate marketer and stand for something you believe in and love. Get to know your customers and market intimately. Get to know them personally and what they like and consume and how that applies to your market. Become passionate and provide more valuable information, products and services. Provide valuable free information not just hype and sales pitches.

If you are not consistently making profits in your online marketing efforts ask yourself a very simple question. If this is so easy … why aren’t you as successful as you want to be? The first thing you must realize is if you aren’t doing something you are passionate about you won’t get the joy you deserve out of life and probably not the level of success you deserve either.

The Marketing Mindset of Goal Setting

Jumping Business Mindset Mental Hurdles

Goal setting is a misleading concept and isn’t as simple as setting goals. In order to work on your marketing goals you must do something different to be able to think in different ways other than how your brain is used to thinking. This is why most people set a goal and don’t reach it because unconsciously they keep following the same patterns that allowed them to reach their goal in the past.

Usually we don’t know what steps to take with our marketing strategy and we need a mechanism or a step-by-step process to show us once we have a goal, how to achieve it. The first step is to know what you really want instead of what you think you want. What do you really want? Not what you think you should do or what you think someone else wants you to do.

What do you want to set as a goal? What’s your intention? I have learned that most of us have been taught that we can’t focus on what we want, but must focus on what we need. This is the real killer of ideas and aspirations of most people.

That is the first major obstacle to setting goals … knowing what you really want. Many of your beliefs and assumptions can stop you from taking action or believing in your goals and what you want to achieve. You can assume that you will make $7,000 this month or you can assume that you are going to need to get a job until you can figure out a way to generate $7,000. They’re both just assumptions and the effect of choosing one over the other will manifest that assumption.

The difference between goal setting and goal getting is taking action. Setting a goal is like trying to solve a problem. You want something and there’s something keeping you from reaching it. Most believe the way to solve a problem is to make sure you have the proper web marketing knowledge for solving it in the first place. This is total nonsense “chicken and the egg” logic because the only time you’ll know you have the proper knowledge is after you’ve solved the problem.

Here are three definitions you might not know about:

Knowledge has no formal definition and is still argued as to what the meaning of the word is to this day. The scientific method is the only thing many people can agree creates knowledge and even that scientific proof can be false.

Prudence is the exercise of sound decision making or being practical. A good business entrepreneur has used prudence if they made a good decision, but how will we know it was prudent until after the result of their decision can be measured against other decisions?

Wisdom is the direct application of knowledge and is related to intelligence, but guided by experience of life.

The point of me explaining these three briefly is that there are many marketers out there who will try and create fear in you based on using the example of a rich marketer having more knowledge, prudence or wisdom about marketing than you. This is a pure fear position and is total crap. Because someone was successful in making money does not mean they have more knowledge, prudence or wisdom than you in marketing. It only means they did something which was successful through trial.

Now don’t misunderstand my point…I am not trying to say everyone has the same knowledge level. I am trying to get you to finally tell yourself that you know a lot more than you may give yourself credit for and con artist marketers try to always make you feel inferior in these three areas. Don’t fall for it…scarcity and fear mentality are marketing strategies and two of a marketers biggest weapons.

We all have knowledge, prudence and wisdom and a person who made 3 million off an idea is none of those things because of their success. They are merely richer than you. Did you ever stop to think that they could try more things than you because they already had money? They got to become successful because of someone they knew? Maybe they just chose a marketing plan that someone else had success with and implemented it. There are many reasons why they found success and almost always it isn’t because they are wiser, more prudent or more knowledgeable than you.

It is in hindsight that marketers say, “Well, if I had done this, I would have solved it.” All problem solving is speculation. You learn as much about web marketing as you possibly can, and move in the direction which appears prudent. You will know you’re successful once you solve the problem. Being successful doesn’t make you more knowledgeable or smarter than anyone else it means you found a way that worked.

Let’s say someone’s friends are all well connected millionaires and he creates a mediocre product that does the job. He goes on to make millions because his friends all promote his product. Does this make him a great marketer? I think you get the point.

Mentality about success and wants are the same and what stops us is we’re not willing to be somewhat ambiguous about it. The only time you really know what you want is after you have it. You have to be willing to think, “At this point I seem to want X.” This is your intention, but you must allow for the fact that once you get there, you may think, “Is this what I really want?”

You need to choose something. That’s your starting point. People never know what they want, and think they need the perfect answer. Just pick anything that seems reasonable and interesting to you.
The simple answer is, do something instead of just looking at it.

I have a friend who taught me last spring a method for maintaining focus for long enough periods of time to achieve goals. He told me to give myself a task a small goal to complete and give that task a time target. He then told me to focus on one task only during that time target. So if my time target was 20 minutes working on the task and I wasn’t finished yet, what I found is I had an excuse to do some other task I liked more once my time was up.

The actual result has been to this day that I continue working on the task and I feel productive about it and don’t want to quit for much longer periods of time. You can then reset the time target for another equal period of time once you reach the first target. This is wonderful for your brain and allows you to focus.

Try this> Give your brain a time target, it will continue working more easily until the time target is reached. If there is no time target your brain will ask when you are going to quit?

When working towards a goal you have a lot of distractions, and an important skill is awareness. This comes back to the idea of intention and our intention is to stay focused. So we need to be aware when we’re not. While aware of not being focused, your goal reminds you to be focused. If things come into your senses when you’re trying to focus on something, just let them float away and don’t fixate on them. Distraction is also a decision, which means you have control over it.

How to Improve Your Marketing Mindset

With Intention, Attention, and Understanding

We discussed how marketing constructs are ideas made real in your mind using concepts, classifications and theories. Another synonym for this idea is to call the construct a Gestalt. In order to form a Gestalt it is necessary to gain three marketing mind-set points of mental awareness which are:

Intention

Attention

Understanding

Intention

Intention means what your short term marketing goal is or what you are trying to do. This is your purpose right now. The most critical thing you can do is first decide, what is the purpose of your thinking or what do you want your marketing result to be? An example of this is illustrated when you have a problem and you say “what’s my intention, do I want to end up with a solution or do I want to end up with alternatives that I can explore.” So this is a mistake that entrepreneurs make not deciding what they want up front.

You must focus on one marketing topic and whatever you focus on will expand. As you focus on it you will begin to see more options. So if you want to understand something you start with focus. You pick a marketing topic and you focus your attention on it. What goal are you trying to reach? That’s intention.

When you have an intention you are setting a goal for what you want to create in your life or in your business marketing. Most people don’t focus on their intentions and think of what they don’t want. Your brain doesn’t work that way it is goal seeking. When you have intention you cause your brain to automatically solve the problems necessary to get what you want. Intentions create your future, and they can be as grand as what your life goals are or as simple as a marketing strategy.

The majority of your intentions are subconscious and you are not aware of them. Most actions you take are subconscious intentions and they can be opposite of other intentions. For example you may say you are going to stop smoking, but your subconscious intention may cause you to reach for a smoke. It is very important to be aware of what your purposes are by noticing these conflicts. Then you can end these conflicts and create the life you want.

You must learn to be very conscious about the value system that you are creating and that you are enforcing that system through the choices you are making. If you are not aware of the value system you are creating for yourself become aware of it by focusing on it, and as the saying goes:

Make your habits or they’ll make you. You’re making decisions based on them anyway.

Attention

Attention is knowing what your intention is and using a method or marketing plan to attend to it. A method is usually a step-by-step processes to obtain or solve the things you need to solve in order to gain knowledge of the thing you wish to achieve or know. They are different methods for focusing your attention, but people in general need their brain to direct attention to one thing at a time.

Your mind can really only focus on one thing at a time and yes when I said multi tasking is a bad idea I only meant in the sense that you can only do one thing at a time. It’s fine to have a list of marketing tasks or intentions for the day, but focus on doing them one at a time. You will get a lot more done.

Keep your attention on one type of thinking until you are done or need a break and then you can put your attention to another type of thinking. Attention is keeping your mind focused, so that you keep working on one idea. Attention is the ability to focus your thinking and not work on a lot of different things at once..This is where people who multi-task ruin their ability to concentrate by moving from one thing to another they lose attention.

My definitions are intention and attention or what am I intending? And is my attention on what I’m intending?.

Understanding

Understanding is interesting and we like to be 100% clear about something, but is that practical? No I don’t think so. There are levels of understanding and we want to be at 100%, but that doesn’t mean if you feel you have arrived at some method for really knowing that you’ll make the right decision.

In reality you will only know you made the right decision after you implement your decision and you see your results. This is exactly what keeps you from moving forward because even though you may reach a high level of understanding it is the unknowing or imperfect picture which keeps you from taking action. As I have said before perfect will never happen.

Understanding is like seeing the world from a bird’s eye view or global view. Things become real clear, and you have new insights, and understanding more causes things to expand. You will solve things for yourself when you begin to focus on your intentions, and direct your attention until you understand.

When you reach a point of knowing or understanding you may try to implement something and find that it doesn’t work, and wonder why. Things don’t always work just because you have understanding, and there are many factors outside of theory you did not account for. It is important to gain as much understanding as you can without taking too long, because many of your lessons will happen in real world implementation. The longer you can focus your attention on something, the more connections you make mentally, and the better understanding you get.

Understanding is about being resourceful and having trust in your knowledge something. This trust comes from eliminating confusion, mental blocks, failure beliefs, and confusing information. Understanding is what you have once you eliminate garbage and when you focus over time.

A Positive Business Mindset 3

Profits and Success

The real profit in your business will be made by:

Capturing more sign ups or inquiries about your product

Selling a client multiple products over time

Selling them higher priced products after they trust you

When your customer does buy something from you, you need to provide something which is not just the same as every other product in your market. In fact this is where you will develop a USP or a unique selling proposition for your product. I discussed this business strategy in a previous article and I will explain this business development plan more as I get into product development for your market.

The idea here is to be unique compared to all other products out there or if nothing else unique in the way the product is presented. Presentation means a lot sometimes and this is how some affiliate marketers sell a lot more of the same product than others.

One thing you will want to offer to your prospects as well as your list of clients is an incredible amount of value. Notice I say “value” and not a large quantity of useless bonuses? You may want to add bonuses or not, but if not then make sure the main product has so much value that people can’t refuse it. An example would be an e-book on bass fishing you composed which you want to add more value to so you add some videos on how to use different techniques showing the customer visually and not just in writing. This is a multiple content business strategy that I will discuss later.

A big key to maximizing profits with a list of prospects and clients is following up with your subscribers to any emailing or RSS syndication you do. This is crucial beyond belief and is the best way to communicate with customers and stay at the front of their mind.

Your typical auto responder will allow you to communicate and follow up with people without you having to be in front of them. In fact without having to even write the email right before you communicate with them. It is nice to write a series of emails to your list of clients and prospects and let the auto responder do the work for you. Strategic management and automation allows you to write messages in a proper sequence and have them on a schedule to go out on specific days. Auto responders will be covered at length later.

Quiting before you have a chance to succeed is most people’s business marketing pitfall. Does that sound trite? It is the main reason people fail. There are usually two reasons people quit before a good idea actually yields profit. There is no support system for your marketing endeavors if you have not made money yet. People will kill your dreams and not take you seriously unless you have made a significant amount of money already. If you have made some money they might laugh it off as a good hobby. You need a support system which enables you not disables you.

In other words a group of like minded individuals of varying degrees of success in marketing who will not belittle your efforts. You might become discouraged too fast and reach for a quick job rather than take the extra pain to reach your end goal. It can be painful to see your first success with online marketing. Mine was several years and negative profits worth of pain and I paid for my final successes with some real agony, but I didn’t quit.

The second reason you may quit before you succeed is you may not realize you are working on a gold mine idea. Market research and tweaking of your product may be all you need to have your business strategy become a success. Maybe you just weren’t interested in your market enough? Either way start a new market or do some research to keep moving ahead.

A Positive Business Mindset 2

Secrets To Success

There are a few traits you will want to have if you want to be successful in anything. One business mindset you need to have is absolute focus. When I work on writing articles for this blog I focus completely and totally on how I am going to prepare my article and what material I will use inside each article. This is the way I operate that allows me to finish whatever project I have in front of me. This can also be a problem when all you do is focus on your marketing project so much you have no balance in life.

Secondly It is crucial for every person to have balance in life and not be one dimensional. You can be one dimensional while you are working on a marketing project, but even an entrepreneur must inject their focused day with balance. Use a calendar and a daily agenda to keep strategic management of your life balanced.

Sticking to a specific business schedule most of the time will give you the balance you need. We say most of the time because no one is a robot but if you can get yourself used to balancing your business day out with work and personal activities you will be happier. Your health depends on it and your state of mind. Having a balanced lifestyle will make you more efficient when you are working.

A third big concept is that ideas are real and if you take them to be real in your business development then they can become real in the physical world if you will only work on them. The first step is to write down any good ideas you have on a simple notepad as they come into your head. That may sound dumb and impractical, but if you forget to write a business idea down as it happens you will forget it completely or it may lose some detail later if you wait.

Fourthly never let any excuse stop you from your task. You are sick, you have many other things to do, you are burnt out. Do it anyway and do it now! This means now or schedule it on your calendar and make sure you are there to do it. There are two sides to our personalities. One side wants to buy things to fill the void we have. In this case it is a financial void so we buy more products thinking it may be the answer to our prayers.

The second side of our personality which is uncomfortable to bring out initially is the part of us that wants to work to achieve something. It usually won’t show its face unless our backs are against the wall. It can be exercised out to become a habit. We need to always exercise this muscle of action because it is the key to our success.

Fifth you need to learn to think about what your market wants instead of what you think it needs. In other words you have to get out of your own head and think as your market thinks. This is only a mental starting point and you will need much more than this to actually know what and how to give it to them. I will cover the real business strategy of knowing exactly what to give your market later.

If you are offering content to your market in any form you need to write in a way that makes people feel you are real and like they know you. Reveal something personal about yourself that makes the reader relate to you and understand you have faults too and you are human. You need to also reveal something about them that makes them feel you are like them and have empathy for them. You may ask how can I know about all the people in a market? We will cover more about that later but you need to reveal something about them or you really don’t know your market.

Your market has a specific set of problems or pains and you need to let them know you know about it and have found a solution or maybe you are just providing information. This solves a problem in itself sometimes people are searching for information and will pay for it.

The only way to tell if someone wants what your business is selling is to get it in front of as many people as you can who are LIKELY PROSPECTS, for as little money as possible, and see if they buy it. If that sounds too general it is and we will expand on how to laser target your product later.

Traction And The Law Of Attraction

The Truth about having a positive marketing mindset and a good disposition on life in general are one and the same. People fail in almost everything they do in life because of their own dispositions or because of their own frame of mind. They allow the negative mindset of those around them bring them down.

I strongly believe in the forces of magnetism and electrical pull. We all know we are more powerful than what we seem to be…we can feel it, we know it in our bones, but we can’t exactly put our finger on why we know it or how. These videos begin to strongly point to an alternate reality which is fused with our own…yet not completely knowable by us mere humans.

Advances in technology and in science are beginning to point to the possibility of multiple dimensions, planes and frequencies or however they need to be defined. This metaphysical motif is not a bunch of hippie speak and needs to be looked into more deeply. The thing which drives people crazy quite literally is the need to verify everything at the scientific level. This is quite impossible in my opinion as we are mere mortals and not equipped to know everything.

Still scientists will dig deeper and deeper looking for meanings and trying to unravel the matrix of reality. To them I say good luck you might have a hard time finding the feelings and energy forces which are the very electric threads of elusive spirit. That is of course if you believe in such a thing.

How do you define the spirit? People have argued over this for eons, but we can all agree: scientist and clergyman, metaphysical and empirical…There are energy fields which we haven’t been able to clearly define and which are having profound effects around and in us.

This first video by Mark Hendricks touches on the basic idea of fields of energy which can clearly be proven through testing them. They flat out exist, work and will empower you to become the force you choose in the world. Use them to create the reality you want around you.

People are so trapped in the victim state of mind and my hope is this type of information will allow you to begin to be honest with yourself and what you want. It is necessary to understand why you have failed in the past or not gotten what you deserve and desire.

The second video series is from a metaphysical guru who I recently have been studying. It goes quite a bit deeper than where Mark went with his information. You may or may not agree with Gregg Braden’s views or ideas. That is fine because it is literally mind blowing so I won’t blame you for not agreeing with it. It is a big pill to swallow.

Metaphysics is the branch of philosophy that investigates principles of reality transcending those of any particular science, traditionally, cosmology and ontology. It is also concerned with explaining the ultimate nature of being and the world.

Take it in slowly and look into these types of ideas in order to expand your mind and your control over your own reality. At whatever level you are comfortable I think we can all agree Mark Hendricks video is powerful and valid. Gregg Braden’s is for me as well ever so powerful, but swirl it around in your head and begin to look into the metaphysical. It is not evil…truth is not evil it just is. Don’t be scared to investigate and find out who you are and where your power lies.
